This Bush’s baked beans with ground beef recipe came from a good friend of mine and I decided I would name them “Cowboy Crockpot Baked Beans” since it reminded me of the time my son spent in Texas. I’ve also heard them called Texas baked beans, so they’ve been named many things over the years.

If you love beans that are sweet and tangy then these would be perfect to feed a crowd at your next barbecue! Personally, I prefer to make a Bush’s baked beans with ground beef recipe, but again it’s totally up to you.
You can make this cowboy crock pot recipe in the morning, throw it into a slow cooker and be ready to serve when company arrives. This is one of my favorite parts of the entire Texas baked beans dish. I love how convenient it is to make something delicious in advance. Any baked beans recipe in a crockpot is a total win.
Try Making this Cowboy Baked Beans Recipe Today!
- 2 cans pork & beans (I like Bush's original)
- 4 cans other beans - drained (Your choice. I used black, kidney, pinto & garbanzo)
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 green pepper chopped
- 1 lb. ground beef browned and drained of fat
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbs. white vinegar
- 1 Tbs. yellow mustard
- Garlic salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Combine all ingredients into a slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours.
