Day 5 on our 30 Days of Christmas Countdown
Whenever my kids come home from college, one of the first things they always say is how good the house smells. I keep either a candle burning, a wall plug or a pot of simmering potpourri going all the time in my home. I’m probably a little obsessed with things that smell good, so that is why I love these simmering holiday potpourri recipes. Put this on the stove, or in a little crock pot, and let it do it’s magic!
3 cinnamon sticks
1 Tbsp cloves
1/2 orange sliced
1 cup whole fresh cranberries
grated nutmeg
Put in a small pot and fill with water. Bring to a boil then simmer on low heat. Watch the water level making sure it doesn’t run out. Enjoy
Apple Cinnamon Potpourri
1 apple cut into fourths
1 cinnamon stick
Put ingredients in a small pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then turn on low to simmer.
Spicy Pumpkin Potpourri
1 cup canned pumpkin
3 cinnamon sticks
2 Tbsp whole cloves
1 apple sliced
grated nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Apple Cider
Put ingredients into a medium pot, fill pot up with apple cider. Simmer on low heat after bringing to a boil.
