Santa's Sticky Buns

Ingredients
- Sweet Dough
- 1 package dry yeast
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup water
- 2½ cup flour
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ tsp salt
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- Inside Layer
- ¼ sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp butter melted
- ⅓ cup raisins
- Sauce
- ½ cup butter melted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp Karo syrup
- ⅓ cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in ¼ cup warm water and add 1 tsp sugar. Let sit until foamy.
- In the meantime, mix together butter, flour, salt and sugar. (Mix in food processor otherwise just mix by hand) Stir milk and egg into yeast mixture.
- Gradually add to flour. Knead dough till smooth. (40 seconds in processor)
- Put dough into a large plastic food storage bag and seal top.
- Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. About 1½ hours.
- To assemble buns, roll dough into a rectangle on a floured board.
- Spread 2 Tbsp melted butter over dough.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle on top. Top with raisins.
- Roll lengthwise and seal edges.
- Cut into about 9 slices, about one to two inches thick. (Depends on how thin you rolled the dough)
- Pour melted butter into 9x9 pan and stir in brown sugar and Karo syrup. Mix together. Pour pecans on top.
- Layer buns on top of sauce.
- Cover with plastic wrap that has been sprayed with Pam. Let rise in a warm place for about 40 minutes.
- Cook in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown on top.
- Remove from oven and invert pan immediately onto a serving plate. Scoop up any excess sauce and drizzle on top. Best when warm.

Notes
Easy Pecan Sticky Buns
Instead of making your own sweet dough, use" Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls", (not the grand size)
This pretty much eliminates the time to make the dough. (These won't have raisins though, which is usually ok with my kids)
Follow the rest of the directions from above, except for cut the sauce in half.
Use ¼ cup melted butter, ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 Tbsp Karo Syrup, and as much pecans as you like.
Cook for 18-22 minutes.
