If you love caramel and chocolate then you will love these Oatmeal Carmelitas.

Ingredients
  • 50 caramels
  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9x13 pan
  3. In a bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, flour, oatmeal, baking soda and salt together.
  4. Press ½ mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Melt chocolate chips and spread over the oatmeal layer.
  7. Unwrap caramels and melt them with the evaporated milk in the microwave, or double boiler.
  8. Spread over the top of the melted chocolate chips.
  9. Crumble the remaining oatmeal mixture over the top covering as much as you can.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes more.
  11. Chill 2 hours before cutting.
