Root Beer Roast

  • Root beer Roast
  • 5 lb roast (I used a rump roast)
  • 32 oz root beer (room temperature)
  • 1 bag small carrots (I put them in whole since they are small)
  • 1 onion
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Olive oil
  1. Salt and pepper roast and then brown it in oil till sides are slightly browned.
  2. Put ⅓ of root beer into the bottom of crock pot.
  3. Put roast into the crock pot.
  4. Add carrots and onions.
  5. Pour rest of root beer over top.
  6. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  7. (The longer you cook it, it will shred instead of cut. I like mine shredded but if you don't then don't cook it as long)
  8. Gravy
  9. Put roast drippings into a sauce pan.
  10. Mix together flour and water till you have a paint like consistency.
  11. (No specific amount, just add together since you will throw out what you don't use.)
  12. Bring roast drippings to a boil
  13. Slowly stir in flour mixture until you have gravy consistency.
  14. Add salt and pepper to taste!
